Dalmark Grain exports first shipment of 2010 oilseed rape
THE first shipment of Oilseed rape harvested from this season’s crop to leave UK shores was exported from Agrilynk Silos, Kings Lynn, on Friday (30 July), by Peterborough-based Dalmark Grain.
“We believe this is the first shipment of the 2010 rape crop to leave UK shores,” said John Martin, Dalmark trading director.
All of the rape on the MV Poprad has been sourced from farms within East Anglia and Lincolnshire – a truly regional service from farm to port.”
Offering a rapid turnaround to customers by quickly moving the harvested rape from farm as it came off the fields had advantages for growers, Mr Martin said.
“We hope that by continuing to provide this high level of service, we can help reduce much of the pressure on storage space for growers as the remainder of the harvest comes in.”
