Gleadell’s grain terminal remains on track for harvest
Gleadell Agriculture’s grain terminal at Great Yarmouth is taking shape as the steelworks emerge on the skyline.
Local contractors have ensured construction of the facility is now well on track despite the unusually severe winter, said Trevor Gates, Gleadell’s East Anglian regional manager.
“We were able to keep on top of the job – even when we were fighting the worst of the weather – as the concrete works, the ground works and the site engineering are all being carried out by Norfolk companies.”
The facility would be ready for harvest, when Gleadell would provide an integrated operation on the site with a state of the art dryer, 18,000t of flat storage and a mobile shiploader capable of loading vessels up to 25,000t.
The terminal would give farmers throughout East Anglia a world-class facility without spending a penny of their own money or tying up capital, said Mr Gates.
As it was an end user destination, no double haulage costs would be incurred either.
