In the mood for Christmas

Nothing makes Christmas special like a great Christmas dinner. And nothing makes a better festive feast than a locally produced turkey and seasonal vegetables.

That’s the message delivered loud and clear by Essex-based turkey farmer Paul Kelly and NFU horticulture chairman Sarah Pettitt at the BBC Good Food Show in Birmingham on 25-29 November.

Growers at the show were on hand to give away locally grown fruit and seasonal vegetables.

A special website – www.ukturkeys.co.uk – has been set up to help shoppers find local turkey producers and try a selection of recipes.
