Slurry experts Tramspread have launched a new range of slurry tanks – to be used in addition to existing storage, to reduce the need for major investments as farms try to meet the government’s six-month storage target.
“For farms that need to extend storage to manage over winter, these tanks are cost-effective and can be fitted with a variety of covers to meet the 2027 directive that all slurry should be covered,” explains Tramspread’s John Tydeman.
Crucially, the tanks are covered by the slurry infrastructure grants (see article on page 45). The grant will pay £31.50/m³ towards the cost of the tank and £32.17/m ² towards a fixed cover, or £7.99/m² for a floating cover.
Installation service
The galvanised and powder-coated corrugated steel tanks provide an estimated design life of more than 20 years. There are four standard sizes, ranging in capacity from 280m³ up to 1,100m³. Larger sizes are available on request.
“The tanks have a fitted liner made from Landflex ES geomembrane sheeting which protects the steel and increase the lifespan. Tramspread offers a full installation service but will also supply tanks as kits.”
Inlet and outlet sizes can be specified. So can include mixers, platforms, and ladders.
“These tanks offer good value for those looking for additional or temporary storage,” says Mr Tydeman.
This could be for an AD plant needing an additional tank for temporary storage or for farms looking to extend their storage. The tanks can also be set up in remote locations to act as nurse tanks.”
A range of slurry handling equipment will be exhibited by Tramspread on stand 350 in Hall 12 at LAMMA.
It will include a range of uprated and improved engine driven pump units developed by the company.
