Growers and industry professionals will come together in York on 1 October for the 2026 British Carrot Growers Association (BCGA) Demonstration Day, hosted by BCGA chairman Rodger Hobson of Hobson Farming. The annual event provides an important opportunity for growers to see over 70 carrot trial plots as well as the latest developments in carrot production. A parsnip trial will showcase 11 varieties, enabling visitors to assess the latest growing techniques.

This year’s event is already shaping up to be one of the largest yet, with 24 exhibition stands confirmed and a number of new exhibitors. The event provides companies with the opportunity to meet directly with growers and industry professionals. New products and services will be showcased. BASF Nunhems will sponsor the lunch, with Elsoms sponsoring the breakfast sponsor, and Hazera Seeds confirmed as programme partner for this year’s event.

Mr Hobson said he was very much looking forward to the event. “The extensive trials of both carrots and parsnips, as well as a strong line-up of exhibitors, will make for an invaluable day for everyone.”

Supply chain

“The BCGA Demonstration Day is growing year on year, and it is the place for growers and the wider supply chain to come together to see the latest varieties in the field, and to share knowledge and experiences with others across the industry.”

With an expected attendance of more than 250 delegates, the Demonstration Day offers businesses an excellent platform to showcase their products and services directly to a highly relevant grower audience. Companies interested in exhibiting or sponsoring the event are encouraged to contact the British Carrot Growers Association for further information by emailing events@britishgrowers.org.
