ForFarmers is seeking applicants from across agriculture for a two-year commercial training scheme starting in September 2027.
The Commercial Development Programme aims to develop commercial skills while giving recruits a broad view of the livestock feed business. Degrees are not required, and the company is also targeting people who want to change careers.
“Motivation and attitude are key,” said ForFarmers commercial director Greg Edwards. “We welcome applications from people with and without degrees, and from those at different stages of their careers.”
Placements
ForFarmers will work with each successful candidate to design a placement route that reflects their interests and the needs of the business. Participants will receive training and gain practical experience across several departments.
The scheme forms part of the company’s effort to strengthen its pipeline of commercial and technical talent. ForFarmers supplies feed solutions, nutritional advice and on-farm expertise to livestock businesses across Europe.
The company aims help participants find permanent positions after the programme, although no role is guaranteed in the announcement. “Our aim is then to work with each individual to identify a full-time role where they can take on greater responsibility.”
Millie Stevens entered the programme in June 2025. She said its placements and access to experienced staff had expanded her knowledge of the industry – and helped to broaden her professional horizon.
“The opportunities within the programme, such as team building, attending meetings to discuss new products, being invited to conferences and being on farm with experienced nutritionists has given me so much inspiration for my future role.”
