Machinery, implements and tractors – farmed by the same family for 46 years – sold for up to £28,200 at a successful dispersal sale on a Welsh border dairy farm.

Regional auctioneers Halls reported a buoyant trade and an enthuiastic large crowd for the auction held on 11 February for Richard and Helen Fairbanks at Bank Farm, Bulthy, Middletown, near Welshpool.

Auctioneer James Evans had a family connection with the farm because his father Jim sold it to the Fairbanks family in 1977. Having recently sold the 80ha farm Mr Evans said he was delighted to see such a large turnout and an excellent trade for the auction.

And he wished Mr and Mrs Fairbanks a long and happy retirement.
